Cookie Policy
We keep cookies to a minimum. This page explains the few we use, why, and how you can control them.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, like local storage and pixels, do comparable things. They're used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, keep the service secure, and understand how a site is used. Cookies can be "session" (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent" (kept for a set time).
2. How We Use Cookies
We use only what we need. On our marketing website we keep cookies to a minimum. In the VerifyMaill app, we use essential cookies to sign you in and keep your account secure. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we don't sell your data. If we ever introduce analytics or other non-essential cookies, we'll set them only with your consent and update this page first.
3. Types of Cookies We Use
| Category | What it's for | Can you switch it off? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Signing you in, keeping your session and account secure (for example authentication and anti-fraud). The app can't work without these. | No: these are required to provide the service. |
| Functional / preferences | Remembering choices you make, like settings, so you don't have to set them again. | Yes, via your browser, though some features may not remember your choices. |
| Analytics | Understanding usage to improve the product. We currently don't set these; if we add them, it will be with your consent. | Yes: opt-in only. |
| Advertising | We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. | Not applicable. |
4. Third-Party Cookies
A few trusted third parties may set or receive data when you use our pages:
- Polar and Stripe, our payment providers, may set cookies that are necessary for checkout, payment and fraud-prevention when you go to pay. See Polar and Stripe.
We don't control third-party cookies; their own policies govern them.
5. Managing Your Preferences
You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings (below). Because strictly necessary cookies are required to sign in and keep the app secure, turning those off will stop the app working. If we add a cookie banner or preference centre for non-essential cookies, you'll be able to manage your choices there too.
6. Browser Controls
Most browsers let you see, block or delete cookies. You'll find instructions in the help pages for Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge. Blocking all cookies may affect how this and other sites work.
7. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There's no industry-agreed standard for how sites must respond, so we don't rely on it, but since we don't track you across other websites for advertising in the first place, there's nothing to opt out of on that front.
8. Changes
We'll update this policy if our use of cookies changes, for example if we add analytics. The version posted on this page is always the current one.
