Guarantee
We stand behind our accuracy. Here's exactly what we promise, where the limits are, and how a claim works, written plainly so there are no surprises.
1. Our Accuracy Guarantee
We guarantee 99% deliverability accuracy: no more than 1% of the addresses we mark as "deliverable" will hard-bounce when you send to them. If a verified batch exceeds that 1% hard-bounce rate, we'll make it right as described in Section 6.
A hard bounce is a permanent failure: the mail server says the mailbox does not exist or cannot receive mail. Soft bounces (temporary issues like a full mailbox, an out-of-office throttle, or greylisting) are not counted, because they don't mean the address is invalid.
2. You Only Pay for Results
We think you should only pay for answers we can actually give you. So:
- We deduct a credit only when we conclusively classify an address.
- If we can't reach a definitive result (an "unknown" or unverifiable outcome), we don't charge a credit for it.
This is part of why our guarantee is honest: we'd rather tell you "we couldn't be sure" and not bill you, than mark something deliverable just to charge for it.
3. What's Covered
- Addresses we returned as "deliverable" that produce a genuine hard bounce on a real send;
- within the verification batch or API results you're claiming on;
- where the addresses were verified by us and not modified afterwards; and
- claimed within the window in Section 7.
4. What's Not Covered
Email verification predicts whether an address can receive mail at the time we check it. It is a best-effort assessment, not a promise that a message will ultimately be delivered. The following are outside the guarantee:
- "Deliverable" is not a delivery warranty. We assess whether the mailbox can accept mail; we can't control what happens after. A correctly-verified address can still fail to receive a message for reasons that have nothing to do with its validity.
- Changes after we checked. Mailboxes get full, deactivated or closed, and domains change. An address that was valid when verified may stop working later. Verify close to when you send for best results.
- Catch-all / accept-all domains. Some servers accept mail for every address whether or not the mailbox exists, deliberately hiding the truth. We flag these honestly as "accept-all" / "risky" rather than "deliverable", and they are not covered.
- "Unknown", "risky", "accept-all" or "role" results. We tell you when we're not certain; acting on those is your call and is not guaranteed (and, per Section 2, "unknown" isn't charged).
- Soft bounces and temporary failures (greylisting, throttling, full mailbox, server downtime).
- How you send. Bounces caused by your sending practices (poor domain or IP reputation, missing SPF/DKIM/DMARC, spam-trap hits from old data, content filtering or blocklisting) are about deliverability, not address validity.
- Lists not verified by us, or results edited, merged or re-used after verification.
This guarantee is your sole and exclusive remedy for verification accuracy, and applies instead of any other warranty about results (see the Terms).
5. How to Submit a Claim
Email team@verifymaill.com with the subject "Guarantee claim" and include:
- the account email and the verification batch / job ID (or the API request details);
- the addresses you're claiming on, which we marked "deliverable"; and
- evidence of the hard bounces, for example your email provider's bounce log showing the permanent-failure SMTP codes and messages for those addresses.
We may ask for a little more detail so we can reproduce and confirm the result fairly.
6. How We Put It Right
Once we confirm that more than 1% of the "deliverable" addresses in your batch hard-bounced, we'll credit the verification credits for the affected addresses back to your account so you can re-verify or use them elsewhere. There's nothing to lose: the credits for the addresses we got wrong come back to you.
If you believe your situation warrants more, tell us. We review reasonable claims case by case and want you to feel fairly treated.
7. Claim Timelines
- File within 30 days of the verification, so the result still reflects the mailbox's state near when you sent.
- We aim to acknowledge claims within a few business days and to resolve them promptly once we have the evidence we need.
